Evergreen by Rachel Harries
11:00I hope all is as well as it can be in these strange times for you. This week I have created a journal page using Dina Wakley products. I used a stencil for the face, and a mixture of collage paper, stamps and stencils for the background.
I started the process by finding a paper in the collage book that I wanted to use this is no easy feat as I would happily sit and browse through these collage books all day long.
Once I had my paper I roughly decided on the placement of my face and tore the paper accordingly and adhered to my page.
I then took my stencil and used a brushed corduroy distress in gently though it, I could have used a little paint or anything not too dark to give me the placement of the details.
I used a pencil then to just help me loosely define any areas I might loose once I paint over this area and then I painted over that area.
once the paint had dried I went over the area with the stencil again, trying to be mindful of lining the stencil up in the same position as previously.
I then used a leaf stencil to start creating the rest of my page.
I also used a couple of leaf stamps with some distress oxide to add more depth and interest.
I stamped some other elements that I wanted to represent blooms and painted in some colour on the face.
I added some extra detail with black pen and white pen and there she is.
Thank you for taking the time to read my post, I hope you like the project here is a list of links to the products used:
