Instructions
(Apologies for colour quality of photos but light has been an issue)
Gesso was the first step, applying to the black cover of the sketchbook.
I happened to have deli paper which had been used as under paper for previous projects. I selected sheets which had Gesso, Walnut Ink and Lustre Spray Aubergine.
This sheet was adhered to the front cover of the sketchbook and once dry, inking up one of the Lynne's Scribbled Words stamps with Jet Black Archival then with palette knife and gesso mixed with Texture paste, swiping on and then swiping off excess.
From another deli sheet, stencilling and cutting out a circle from the A4 Circles Stencil.
The Stamperia Cosmo Deer Rice Paper is filled with beautiful imagery and I couldn't help but select the tree image to work with.
At this point, I adhered the circle of deli paper to the sketchbook cover before layering the rice paper tree image. With a Stabilo ALL pencil, creating shadows around both.
From two stamp sets I selected the words Beautiful and Nature stamping onto scrap painted paper before adhering to cardstock for stability.
To bring life to the cover, reaching for the beautiful Interference Gold Paint.
I added a scrap of muslin to the upper left corner before applying more of the Gold Paint.
I made a start on some of the pages, preparing with gesso, coffee and PaperArtsy Fresco chalk paints. I find that if I rid myself of the starkness of the white pages it gives me a kick-start when settling down to work on the pages.
