Not for Cheese by Amanda Southern
11:00 Hi Everyone
For this weeks make I am sharing with you another of the samples that I made for the recent launch of new stamps and masks by Melina Dahl. That's Crafty! also launch some additional MDF substrates to add to their extensive range and this time sees the addition of a set of Dinky MDF cheese boards which obviously are not for putting cheese on but to decorate as you see fit. I have used some of Melina's floral stamps to decorate these.
Here's What I Did:
I used a trio of the Dinky MDF cheeseboards, you actually get a set of 12, 4 of each design, at 4" tall they are a fun piece to work on. To start I painted each one with white gesso and once that was dry I stamped the floral images with embossing ink and heat embossed in white. I then outlined around the white embossed images using a black fine Posca pen and coloured in all the space with a wider Posca pen. I then coloured in the flowers using coloured pencils, obviously you could colour with a medium of your choice. To add some further detail to each cheeseboard I went around the edges, using a white Posca pen and added some faux stitches. I then heat embossed the sentiment across the three cheese boards, again using white embossing powder.
I then needed a background to mount them on and again another That's Crafty! MDF substrate the rectangle panel which I painted using the white gesso again with a top coat of That's Crafty! White Multi Surface Paint. I then used another new item the 'All Lined' A5 mask which I stencilled using Versafine Clair ink and a blending tool. The dinky cheeseboards were added to the board using That's Crafty! craft adhesive.
Here's What I Used:
Posca Paint Pens Black & White
Versafine Clair Ink Pad - Nocturne
Coloured Pencils (Prismacolor)
Have a great week and I'll see you next Tuesday
Love
Amanda X
