In a recent post I shared where I decorated the cover of a Sketchbook.  At the time of decorating the cover I prepared pages with Walnut Ink and PaperArtsy Fresco Chalk Acrylics, so that at my own pace I could return to work inside this sketchbook. 

In this journal the running theme relates to nature whether stamped images or in this instance collage elements available from That's Crafty! website. I am sharing details only for the left page but wanted to show the page in context of a journal spread.

* I worked with various Frescos in this sketchbook and some are not available from the That's Crafty! website. 

Apologies for having no step photos as I said, I would pull out this sketchbook and work in small pieces here and there, most often in the evenings. 

As the pages were previously prepared with walnut ink and Frescos it was simply about me auditioning pieces and deciding what I would collage together on the pages. 

The Stamperia Rice Paper sheet is filled with beautiful images.

Just behind the Rice Paper image, one of the Scribbled Words appears stamped with Jet Black ink which you can just about see in this photo.  Often I will ink up the stamp, stamping onto scrap before stamping onto the page, giving a grungy effect which seems to bring more texture to the stamping. 

Walnut Ink is one of my absolute favourite supplies and I always have the walnut ink stored in a jar and in spray bottles. When I have scrap pieces of paper I will apply Walnut Ink, as seen here at the top of the rice paper image along with a scrap of calico, again stained with Walnut Ink, adding a simple cross stich detail to the calico.
