Beautiful Life by Dorthe Hansen
11:00
Again all around me, it is decked with snow, 10 cm high it is laying again !!
But then it is a joy, to stay inside and play once more with Fliss`s lovely flower sheet.
One of my most loved white/greyboard tags was the start.
I used a Distress Oxide all around the perimeter and laid it aside.
A piece of copy paper was crumbled in my hands, painted with Teal Multi Surface Paint
very watery and after dried I took my Jet Black Archival ink and lightly smeared it
over the crumpled paper to highlight some of the edges which occur.
I chose two stamps from Fliss`s Set 1 and the white/greyboard Bits and Pieces, form, suiting the stamps - painted them with Teal too and then dry
quickly, put them in a waterbath, (yes you can do that but only for a few seconds)
then bended and formed the petals, to give both a 3-D form.
From the crumpled paper, I used two stamps from Lynne`s Affirmations to form the Beautiful Life,
adhered them to cardstock and cut out.
Then I stamped both the flower and the leaf onto tissue, using the black Archival.
Fussy cut and adhered to the greyboard forms and left to dry.
In between I rolled a paper flower, cutting a circle into a spiral and then from the outside,
rolling the spiral around it self to form a flower.
The crumpled background paper was adhered to the tag and circle and the number stamp was
used in different places to create interest. A piece of rusted cotton placed on the long
side, added a uniform background for the greyboard pieces. The rolled flower and a artificial one, were adhered to the cotton too, as well as the two words.
A white Posca pen was used to details onto the greyboard pieces.
Lastly a piece of died lace was adhered under the background paper and a piece of Sari Silk was added to be able to hang the tag.
If you followed me all the way, thank you so much, I`m always grateful, for your visits.
Hugs and love,
Dorthe

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely display Dorthe, love how greyboard can be shaped it gives so much more movement to our designs. Fliss's flowers look wonderful with your teal hues, accompanied with your rolled flower. As the tag recalls just Beautiful. Thank you for sharing.

My dear Tracey,
Deleteyou are such a lovely friend, thank you for your kind comment , it is great to be able to form the flat greyboard, sometimes , like here.
Thank you dear.

Stunning tag you have created from such basic materials. Your use of colors is subtle and yet so dramatic with how you have put them all together. Flowers for Spring which surely can’t be far away now. No more Snow! <3
ReplyDeleteNo Sherry , no more snow, that we ask :-) Thank you so much for your kind words, it was fun to mix with the black, making it a bit dramatic - Hugs, Dorthe xoxo

This is so beautiful Dorthe, the colours and textures are wonderful and love the white highlights on the embellishments which make them really pop out. Didn't know you could shape the white/greyboard pieces like that so thanks so much for the tip.

OMGoodness. I love it all. Thanks for the reminder of crinkling/inking papers. Used to do that a lot but that technique was forgotten. Must try again. Thanks for such beautiful eye candy this morning, Easter Monday.
