Grow by Lynne Moncrieff
11:00Hello
Underpaper, for me is a valuable item for incorporating into collages, art journals, etc, an amazing starting point for any project and also reduces waste. I work with anything that is to hand, it might be re-cycled packing paper, tissue paper, deli paper, rice paper, freezer paper, anything goes.
This underpaper was coated with gesso and That's Crafty! paints and walnut ink. Cutting to size for the MDF panel, suddenly a background is in place for this collage.

Instructions
Although working with underpaper, it is coated with That's Crafty! paints as mentioned in the supply list along with Walnut Ink and fingers dipped into black paint, making marks towards left side before adhering to the MDF panel.
If you have the Craftyboard Journals you will know they are amazing for not only the actual journal pages, the extras included are such a clever idea. Here, I used one of the rounds - layering another scrap of underpaper to the round, topping with a stamped leaf.
For the stamped leaf. ...
With the Aged Mahogany ink pad, lightly inking the stamp, focusing on the edge, stamping onto cotton rag paper for the texture it brings. As soon as it is stamped, dipping a fine paintbrush into the Redwood and Walnut Flat Matte Sprays, using them as a watercolour to paint the leaf, pulling the Aged Mahogany ink from edges into the leaf. To bring texture to the painted leaf, dip paintbrush into water and either allow water to drop onto the leaf or flick the water onto the leaf. Fussy cutting before layering to the round and adhering to the panel.
Lots of Words has a wealth of amazing words to dip into. I selected the word Grow, both suitable for the leaf but also for personal growth. The word inked up and stamped onto scrap painted cardstock, adhering towards bottom right corner, making marks beneath stamped word.
Thank you for visiting.
