For this weeks blog post I have chosen to make a mini album using lots of elements from the Lady Vagabond collection combined with a few added extras from the Sir Vagabond collection. Having made a mini album last month using envelopes I decided that this one would focus on using card blanks for the pages.
I started by covering 15.5cm square mountboard with the faux journal papers from the 12 x 12 Lady Vagabond papers. Please note if you want both your front and back covers to be the same then you will need to purchase two packs of the papers - I then used the front image for the front cover and the plainer back image for the back cover. The flowers on the front were then covered with Glossy Accents and left to dry before adding fussy cut images from both the 12 x 12 and 8 x 8 Lady Vagabond papers. Finally I added the the chipboard word "discover" and "adventure" from Sir Vagabond Die Cut Assortment. The faux hinge came from Lady Vagabond Die Cut Assortment cut in half so I had a piece for the front and back cover.
The "pages" of my album were then constructed by joining 6" card blanks (these actually measure 14.8mm so they fit in a 6" envelope) creating flaps and pockets as I did so. I hope that the page samples will show you how this was achieved.
Here I have added a second card blank to the right hand part of the first one so that it can lift up to create my flap. The inside front cover has an opening door - to make this I cut a square of paper from the 12 x 12 paper collection and then took a scalpel to cut around three sides of the door so that it would open. I then added a piece of acetate from the Sir Vagabond collection to the back before adhering it on to another piece of paper. If you don't have the printed acetate pieces you can create your own using plain acetate and any of the co-ordinating stamps from the collection. I added both die cut chipboard elements and fussy cut elements to decorate the pages as shown.
To make the next part of the concertina I adhered a card blank to the back of the second page creating a pocket for tags and then took another card blank and cut off half of the left hand flap when it is opened out and adhered it to the page created from the first step creating another pocket in the process. The pages were then covered with papers, die cuts and chipboard elements as shown. I created two tags from kraft card and decorated these before slipping them into the bigger pocket created on the back of page two.
To create the last two pages of the concertina album I adhered another card blank in place this time adding glue to three sides only before adhering to the back of page 4 creating a landscape orientated pocket this time. These pages were then decorated with papers and the same technique used on the first page. Two more tags were then decorated to put in the pocket.
The ends of the now concertina folded cards were adhered in place to the covers leaving two pages to decorate. On the left hand page as you are looking at it in the image above I used the journal cover from the smaller paper pad to create a pull out piece that is hooked into a pocket created by adhering paper around 3 sides. For the remaining page I crated another flap using another of the journal images attaching it to a paper panel before securing in place. On the inside I then added a pocket in to which I slipped a fussy cut album page form the smaller paper pad.

Of course you could go on to add lots more pages to your album by varying how you join the card blanks together - if you do this then I would recommend that you make the whole of your concertina album page blank up first and then decorate to your hearts content.
