Use Your Wings by Amanda Pink

Hello and Welcome,

For this weeks project I have cranked up the colour to create a bold and bright art panel which I think has a real 'positive' vibe due to the colours in both the background and the focal double winged butterfly.

The art panel itself is a couple of That's Crafty's White/Greyboard Surfaces adhered together - only because I personally wanted the panel to have some thickness but one would work just aswell.

I covered it with some of AALL & Create #19 Washi Tape designed by Janet Klein, sealed with matte medium.

For a touch of extra detail and interest I added some ink stamping using stamps from AALL & Creates 'Background Noise' stamp set designed by Janet Klein, some mark making using white paint and some paint splatters - had to have some of those!!

The focal double winged butterfly was created with a couple of the butterfly stamps from That's Crafty's 'Arty Wings' stamp set.
They were stamped onto That's Crafty! Ultra Smooth White Card, coloured with Tim Holtz Distress inks used like a watercolour paint, highlighted here and there and cut out.
I won't use the term 'fussy cut' because the outline design of the butterflies is such that with smaller scissors there really is no 'fussy' involved.  Yep, they are 'fuss' free!!

The butterflies were adhered together at the thorax and rested on a double mount which was then placed in the centre of one of Seth Apters die cuts that I crackled with Seth's Aladine Izink 'Crackled' Texture.

Manipulating the butterfly wings gave them a lovely sense of movement ....

so I called the finished piece 'Use Your Wings', courtesy of a Tim Holtz small talk sticker.

Products Used:

That's Crafty! Greyboard Bits and Pieces: Small Cogs (inner part of cog used as a round mount)

I hope you've enjoyed your time here today and that maybe the colours and butterflies have added a 'positive vibe' to your day .
Thanks for stopping by
Have a great creative week
Take care
Amanda
