This week I am sharing with you another of one of my samples I made for the recent launch of more stamps designed by Kelly Horton, the one I have used for this weeks piece is from the Little Darklings range. 

Here's What I Did:

All the pieces I have used in the making of this piece are all new pieces from either That's Crafty! Craftyboard range or MDF range (apart from the letters). Starting with one of the new coffin shaped MDF tags I covered it in That's Crafty! Black Gesso, I like to use this gesso as a standard black paint as it has fantastic coverage and a matt finish. I then selected pieces from the new Craftyboard range and painted them as well in black gesso. There are spiders, spiders webs, tombstones, crows, bats and the skull strips. The first thing I added to the large coffin tag was some of the Craftyboard skull strips. As a centre piece I wanted to add my Little Darkling to one of the smaller coffin tags, so that was also painted in black gesso and on top of that I stencilled with black paste through the 6" x 6" Crow stencil, this stencil is a larger size from the original Dinky size stencil with the same images. I knew I wanted my image to be predominately green so to add a coordinating green touch to the tag I used a piece of green organza that I melted in places with a small candle to give it some texture. I laid it on top of the large coffin tag and then added my elements till I was happy with the placement of them all before finally placing on the smaller MDF Coffin Tag.

Hopefully you can see how I have layered the pieces up on this closeup. 

Next was to stamp out one of the Little Darklings, which I did using Versafine Clair Noctourne ink pad and coloured her with Prismacolour pencils, obviously you can colour with a medium of your choice.

Before adding her to the smaller coffin tag in the centre I lightly brushed over all the pieces on the tag with silver gilding wax.

Final touch was to add the word wicked which for the letters I have used a Craftyboard alphabet sheet, painted then with lime paint and shaded with some watered down black gesso. The letters RIP on the tombstone were from my stash.
