Bird of Paradise by Helen Chilton

For this project, I'm using PaperArtsy Tracy Scott stamps, one set of which is new.

I painted the 15cm Round with Bright Magenta and then overlaid it with Raspberry Satin Ink to give it a shine.

Using stamp set TS051, stamp the semi circle mandala twice in black. It's really easy to stamp and match up free hand.

Then I added a border and painted it in. This takes time, but is quite relaxing!

I stamped the bird in black using a Stamp Platform, painted it in then overstamped it in black paint. This gives a really dense image.

Then just layer it up. If you curl the wings slightly it creates more dimension.

This bird is going to be a favourite stamp - it's just so alive. I've chosen to use the same colours on the bird as the background, but you could easily use contrasting colours and make it stand out even more.

Hope you've enjoyed this project.

Helen
