Wish by Lynne Moncrieff

Hello

I was particularly drawn to the PaperArtsy Eclectica ESA set, designed by Seth Apter for the stamp "wish",  a word which holds so much positive energy. I was also drawn to it for the typography, Seth's signature grungy style, I particularly liked the lines, which you will see that I extended, to represent radiating wishes.

For this collage, I worked with That's Crafty! Interference Paint in Gold.  If you work with this paint you will know that it photographs differently to other metallic paints.  I will try and share a wee video on Instagram and Facebook, moving the collage around to capture the paint.

Instructions

I had a few sheets of prepared watercolour paper but to begin from scratch... choose if to apply clear gesso onto the watercolour paper before misting with walnut ink, mopping up excess with cloth/rice paper (something you can use in future projects). To this, apply the Pearl Inks, allow the colours to spread out, leave to air dry. Once air dried, the Pearl Inks can be flicked onto the panel.

This will be used as the surface which will be adhered to the MDF Panel 8" x 8" and also for four smaller circles and one mid-sized circle, cut from the A4 stencil.

Before the cutting of the circles, the watercolour paper is adhered to the MDF panel.

Partially inking up the stamp, the stamp from ECF06, with various circles and text, stamped repeatedly onto the panel, creating a grungy effect.

EM42 was also partially inked, the ink focused on the splatter design and not the create element of this stamp. This was stamped around the edges of the panel.

Selecting one of the circles on the stencil, stencil outline with watersoluble pencil. My pencil of choice is always Stabilo but a watercolour pencil will suffice. Mist with water.

The next circle will be outlined onto another piece of prepared watercolour paper, cutting out this circle and stamping Wish

from the ESA14 set with Jet Black ink. This circle, layered to the stencilled circle, slightly off-centre. Some of the lines from the stamped image were extended with the watersoluble pencil.

Four of the smallest circles on the stencil were cut out, with one layered to the focal image, the other three placed to right of panel.

With palette knife, Texture Paste and White paint were mixed together, apply to the panel on the scrape on/scrape off motion.

Interference Gold paint, was applied with soft brush.

Thank you for your visit.
