Stencilled ATC's by Tracey Fairgrieve

11:00

Hello Creative friends, I'm sharing some ATC's today created using some of the latest products showcased on Hochanda last Friday now available to purchase from That's Crafty

I got so carried away making these that I forgot to take photo's during the process so I apologise for the one picture glance but hope by my depiction you can imagine how they have been created.

First may I introduce the Dancer ATC:

I first painted the greyboard ATC in a mixture of Pink and Purple Shimmer paints coating
in Metallic Pearl when dry. This stencil has two parts to it, an inner mask and outer aperture.

Placing the Dancer inner mask on top of the ATC I drew around it and hand sketched her finer detail with a fine liner. Coloured in with alcohol markers the outer stencil was then placed over exposing the sketched image. 3D clear modelling paste pushed through the stencil with a palette knife really does making her stand out when dry.

A painted greyboard star and stamped affirmation completes the Dancer ATC.

Spiral Flower ATC:

Placing the Spiral Flower mask down onto the ATC, light texture paste was gently layered all over the surface and mask, Delicately lifting the mask off when the required paste has been used. I then left the ATC to dry completely.

When dry a scene was painted using Multi Surface Paint along with the Spiral Flower. Highlight and shade was added using alcohol markers and detail etched into the texture paste using a scribe.

Various Wink of Stella colours helps create a hint of a shining rainbow in the sky, with the half circle stamp from Lynnes affirmations set 5 used to replicate the sun and rain stamped and embossed in the upper corner. The words are stamped from the same stamp set and added to complete this ATC.

...and finally the Foot Prints ATC:

I first covered the ATC in Textured Sand Paste and left to dry. When thoroughly dry I divided the sand and sea areas, painting the sand with a mixture of Yellow, White and Chestnut Brown Multi Surface and the sea with Dark Blue Shimmer paint, Teal and White Multi Surface.

The stencil was then laid on top of the sand area and the Foot Prints sketched in using old Alcohol Markers as you do not want the rough surface to ruin your best pens.

White Marvy Liquid applique is added along the shore line and heated to make the foam expand adding a touch of sea foam. The sentiment is taken from Lynnes Affirmations set 5 stamped, embossed and adhered completing my third and final ATC.

Thank you for sharing your valued time,
have a great week everyone.

Until next Thursday
Take care & stay safe.

Crafty Hugs
Tracey xx

    1. Thank you Alison, it was so difficult to photograph, I think the matt and gloss surfaces interfered with the light. Wish I had remembered to photograph the process but it's so easy to lose oneself at times xx
