Refuge in Nature An Art Journal Page by Lynne Moncrieff

This latest journal page sees me continuing to work in a That's Crafty! journal.  This journal was on pause for a long time but I finally feel it is starting to move along and I am sure I will share more pages over time.

The journal page was prepared first with Gesso, applied to create texture along with touches of Texture Paste.

Walnut Ink was then sprayed onto the page and also to a piece of packing paper, first applying Gesso and to another piece of found paper before stamping one of the Scribbled Words stamps.

This piece is layered beneath an envelope which was stained with coffee and walnut ink. Taking one of the kraft tags from the Studio Light Tag Block, to grunge it up a little, it was dipped in water, scrunched in my hands before dipping into walnut ink. Once dry, repeatedly stamping the words to cover the tag. Oh, I should mention, tearing the edge from the bottom of the tag.

The flower was stamped with Jet Black ink onto a piece of tea bag paper, stained with tea and walnut ink and then coated with Acrylic Liquid Wax. This focal was adhered to a strip of fabric to which I applied a few dots of Bronze Pearl Ink.

Taking the stamps, Seek refuge in nature, this time inking up only the words refuge in nature, stamping onto lightly stained card.

Wanting to achieve more depth to the background, Pearl Inks were applied along with walnut ink.

When closing the envelope, a piece of walnut ink stained muslin attached with rusted safety pin.
