Hello and welcome to my usual Friday post where this week I'll be sharing how I created for the Hochanda shows last week.

 

This wreath style creation is actually a lot easier to make than you might think as I used papers not only for the background but also to make my embellishments.

I chose a lovely blue toned paper with a crackle effect in places to cover the double circles. I started with the outer circle which I placed on the reverse of the paper and drew round it then cut the circle of paper out and glued it to the substrate.

 

I then took the the leftover centre paper circle and covered the central circle substrate with this, trimming off the excess. I used an emery board on the edges to neaten them up on both sections.

 

I stamped a large butterfly and 2 small ones on some toning paper (picking out the bits of orange in the background paper) and cut them out. I couldn't resist the gorgeous flower you see on here which is actually from one of the beautiful new paper designs from Melina, several of which feature flowers and leaves perfect to cut out. A couple of leaves have made an appearance too as they tone so beautifully.

I painted up some of the new craftyboard shapes, choosing the lovely bubbly elements. They have several layers of paint as I began with orange and light pink multi surface paints then dabbed on orange satin ink and rose gold and patina metallic muti surface paints.

I glued all the elements in place with a mix of multi purpose craft adhesive and dimensional glue. I threaded some chiffon ribbon through the top to finish.
