Arctic Chill by Rachel Harries

11:00

I started this project with the three circular ATC's in the Upright.

I gave a very thin coat of gesso avoiding any of the areas that slot together and also a little dry brush of blue paint, I then used a lovely texture stamp to add some interest.

I then used a the smallest amount of brown paint to the edges.

I then used a stencil and some light texture paste to add a little interest.

I then assembled the pieces with adhesive

I used a mould and some air dry clay to make some penguins, a star and the compass motif.

next I cut a backing and a frame from a cardboard box I happened to have

I added some paper to the back of the backing piece and used some distress ink which I activated with a few splashes of water around the edges.

On the outside edge of the backing piece I added some greyboard cog details and also the star that I moulded earlier.

I then popped this and the compass decal into a cardboard box I use when Im using spray paints, I then used Ayeeda mists drying between layers to create a kind of patina effect.

I adhered the frame to the backing piece

I use some paints to colour the penguins I also added a white dot to the black of their eyes and I used some acrylic wax on their beaks and on the black areas just to add a little sheen. I then glued them in place with the compass decal.

I added some holographic fine paste as snow.

And that's my project for this week I hope you like it, keep creating and stay safe
