Love at First Bite by Amanda Pink

Hi Everyone

Welcome to my Thursday weekly DT post

Given the current health pandemic and all the worry and concern it is causing so may of us I have a 'light hearted' fun piece of creativity to share with you today: A That's Crafty! long tag featuring one of Kate Cranes recently released  'Fish' stampsets from Carabelle.
Hopefully it will make you smile!

The background of the tag is a left over piece that I had in my stash. It was created using Shaving Foam with PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Acrylic paints.

 Here's a basic 'how to':
Squirt Shaving foam into a bowl and level out with a spatula
Add drops of paint onto the surface of the shaving foam
Using a skewer or something similar, swirl the drops of colour into the foam to create a marbling effect.
Place card on top of the marbled foam and pat down gently.
Lift off and carefully scrape off any surplus shaving foam with a ruler.
Set to one side to dry.

The results are a bit like when you use a gelli plate in that no two pieces will ever be the same but you can create some fabulous effects and you will always have lots of 'messy' creative fun along the way!

As I was using Fish stamps I wanted to add some bubbles to the shaving foam background so to create some I used a couple of texture mediums with a Tim Holtz layering stencil.

A Transparent texture paste created some glossy bubbles

whilst a transparent crackle paint created some frosty crackled bubbles. To highlight the bubbles I gently rubbed over them with a Distress ink.

The fish are both stamped in Archival Ink, water coloured with Distress inks and fussy cut- one more than the other as she lost her tail in her excitement to 'love bite' her new found 'beau'

who stands smitten waiting for 'the bite'

on the 'fun' alpha stamped title- 'Love at First Bite! '
