On Safari by Liz Wheeler

Happy Monday Lovely Crafty Folk.

Today's project is a little Travel Journal using Journal It Templates, Stamperia Moulds and some 13Arts papers.

To create the cover of the Journal I used the That's Crafty! Journal It Templates Set 4, template 3A, drawing around it on A3 card to create a continuous piece with front cover, spine and back cover.

Once cut out, I spread some That's Crafty! Multi Purpose Glue and stuck the cover onto some calico from the Journal It Accessory Pack.

On the inside covers I added a piece of 13Arts Rose in Love 12x12 paper.

Back to the outer cover, I then began the background of my Safari scene. For this I used a variety of Tim Holtz Distress Oxides, layering the colours to build a perfect landscape.

For the safari scene I used the Savana Elements mould from Stamperia and Creative Paperclay, to cast the Mama Elephant, Baby Elephant and Tree.

I used That's Crafty! Multi Surface Paints to colour the elements.

To adhere the elephants and tree, I applied some That's Crafty! 3D Gel. To attach the pages of my journal, I wrapped some jute string around the spine several times, fastening off with a knot. I then cut some A4 paper up in half and arranged into 6 signatures (sets of papers) and slid each set underneath the string. This means that when my pages are full, I can swap them out.

Hopefully this may inspire you to get creative with moulds, templates and colour.

Happy Crafting!
