I have created a mini book focused on new beginnings - an appropriate thought for this time of year as nature begins to wake from its winter sleep and our thoughts turn towards new and exciting adventures. Whilst I have collated my art pieces into a Craftyboard Tabbed Journal the techniques used could just as easily be done in an art journal you already have to hand. 

My pages were all created in the same way - first I cut a rectangle of paper from Time of Reflection collection to fit the front of the pages. I then layered stencils and stamps before adding focal embellishments and a stamped word from the stamp set. So that my book was cohesive I worked with a limited colour palette choosing to alternate pages by colouring the Craftyboard Crackling Campfire  and Speckled Egg Distress Oxides. Stamped images in my chosen page colour plus Vintage Photo and Versafine Clair Nocturne were added to the background pices before creating focal compositions using natural elements (feathers, skeleton leaves), chipboard pieces (shrooms, feathers, leaves), stamped images and a stamped quote from the Natures Gatherings stamp set. Finally I added watered down black gesso splatters to the pages.
