Hello!

I hope you caught the That's Crafty! One Day Special which aired on Hochanda this week. There were some really gorgeous new products including stamps, substrates, die cuts and the most fabulous new paper packs designed by the very talented Amanda Southern.

I was so lucky to get to play with these and the pages here feature by new favourite background stamp which appeals to not only my steampunk side, but also the mathematician in me for rather obvious reasons!

I began by covering my journal pages with one of the gorgeous papers in the rather shabby style pack (Set 2), chosing one with shades of blue and brown. I then took the e=mc squared stamp and stamped the image in opposing corners on both pages using black ink.

I then set about making my embellishments using some of the fab Craftboardy steampunk shapes and some stamped elements.

The light bulb was created by painting the die cut shape with Chestnut Brown, Ocean, Grey and Black Multi Surface Paints (all in the kit) and then gluing it to a piece of grungy yellow paper (a scrap I had) from the same paper pack which I stamped with the same background stamp. I then brushed the whole thing with Acrylic Wax.

I prepared 2 of the cog corner shapes with Black, Chestnut Brown and Ocean Multi Surface Paints, again brushing with Acrylic Wax.

I stamped some butterflies on a further piece of paper and the hand on a scrap of yellow paper. I cut these out and let them flow up the page from the outstretched finger.

I stamped the alphabet from the stamp set on yellow and orange paper several times to construct my chosen text. I cut the letters out and added them in a higgledy piggledy fashion.

As a finishing touch, I took some of the alphabet and number Craftboardy to spell out my chosen formula. I painted the letters etc with Mustard Yellow and Orange Multi Surface Paints and stamped the text stamp lightly on them. I glued them in place with Multi Purpose Adhesive.
