Shabby Chic Floral Card by Fliss Goodwin

Hello crafters, I can't believe June is here already and the start of Summer too although the weather has been somewhat iffy this week.
I have a vintage style card to share today making use of some more of the many layered masterboard background that I made a few weeks ago. I was a bit short on time too so it really helps having some backgrounds to fall back on if that happens to you and if you make them A4 size, you can always get several cards out of them.
Step by Step
My background paper is actually quite simple to make using diluted multi surface paints, stamping and stencilling and you can find all the details of how I created it HERE
I created my floral embellishment by stamping my chosen flower twice with Potting Soil Archival ink, once on paper painted with Light Pink multi surface paint, and just the centre on a scrap of my masterboard background paper. I cut them out and glued them together with dimensional adhesive.
I then took a piece of corrugated card and brushed this roughly with Metallic Bronze and Metallic Rose Goldmulti surface paints. I felt this was stronger than I wanted so I toned it down by brushing on a little Grey multi surface paint.
I stamped a leaf on a scrap of paper painted with Lime multi surface paint and cut this out too. I then added some stitching detail to my background paper using the stitch stencil with Potting Soil ink.
I assembled my card, gluing the background paper to a square ivory card blank and tieing a piece of torn sari ribbon around the painted corrugated card. I stamped my chosen text at the bottom of the background and then glued on the corrugated panel and my floral embellishment and leaf to finish.
