A Rose for a Rose by Tracey Fairgrieve
11:00
Hello everyone,
Today I share more pages from my A5 That's Crafty! Mixed Media Journal,
this time using the Roses stencil, paints and crackle glaze.
Here's those how to do's.
Preparing the A5 greyboard pages with a mixture of Buttercup and Mustard Yellow Multi Surface Paint the edges where painted in Chestnut Brown. A quick coating of crackle glaze and dried with a heat tool both surfaces were painted in Ivory letting the crackle glaze work it's magic allowing those cracks to appear.
Testing on a piece of painted card I layered up one of the roses from the
Roses stencil using texture paste left to dry then repeated the process.
Using a mixture of Multi Surface Paints and alcohol markers I added detail.
When happy I copied the design onto both journal panels.
One single Red Rose for Love..
..and two Yellow Roses for Friendship.
The stems of the roses have been hand drawn and painted.
Sentiments from Lynne's Affirmations Set 8 and 6 were used to compliment
and leaves from the Textures Collection Set 3 stamped, cut and applied with
glue to the single red rose completing my double page journal spread.
Thank you for sharing your time today.
Creativity wishes
Tracey xx

DeleteOh my goodness Tracey, wow, wow, wow, these roses look simply amazing, both the red and the yellow ones! What an incredible journal spread, simply stunning!!!! I absolutely love Lynne's affirmations and just today wrote up a blogpost where I used them in a journal for one of my DTs, but it won't go life until the first Friday in July... Don't know why I mention that here, it was just such a coincidence I guess....
