A Journal Board by Debs Wainwright

00:00

Hello everyone Debs here with a journal board for you this week.

I started on an 8x8 white/greyboard by just laying down some colours and sketched my face.

I used a fan brush to put my colour on and this will become a favourite of mine as I love the effects you can create.

Next I added some random stencilling and stamping using inks. Once it was dry I added a coat of matte medium to seal it.

Above  you can see where have added some spray inks and let them drip.

I added rough painted flowers and outlined them with a black pen. I also added the butterfly and some more background stamps I also started painting in the face and hair.

I used Gelatos on the face to blend the colours as well as well on the board, especially in the base colours to bring the colour back. I used a black water soluble pencil to add in shadows and create some depth.

What I used

Black Pen and Pencil – from stash
PaperArtsy Stamp Set - HP1503
PaperArtsy Stamp Set - EEG 15
PaperArtsy Stamp - Mini 28
Indigoblu Stamp - Dinkie Butterfly

I really had fun creating this piece. I hope you like it.

Take care
