I Heart Steampunk by Fliss Goodwin
00:00
Hi
there, I have a mixed media panel to share this week, one of my favourite
vintage style steampunk creations. I’ve used one of the fabulous That’s Crafty
surfaces, this time an MDF panel which can take any medium you choose to throw
at it as it’s very sturdy.
Ingredients:
That’s Crafty! Dinky Stencil – Cogs (Coming soon!)
Ranger Embossing Powders – Rust, Gold, Verdigris
Embossing Ink
Clock
Die
Recipe:
First
paint the panel with the caramel paint and when it’s dried off spritz with the
Distress Spray Stain to add a bit of sheen.
Use
the cogs stencil to apply embossing ink in a pattern on the upper area of the
panel and heat emboss with a mix of the 3 coloured embossing powders. Next
stamp on some gears and cogs from the Steampunk stamp set and then heat emboss
these with the rust and gold powders.
Smoosh
some more embossing ink on the lower left of the panel and heat emboss with the
verdigris embossing powder.
Stamp
the steampunk woman and the large hot air balloon from the set with the brown
ink and use watercolour pencils to colour the images. Stamp the larger hat with
the VersaFine ink and emboss with clear powder. Cut out all of the images.
Die
cut a clock and swipe with embossing ink then heat emboss with gold powder.
Cover the heart with embossing ink and heat emboss with a mix of the embossing
powders.
Stamp
the steampunk text on stamping card with the coffee ink and trim to a panel.
Run embossing ink round the edges and heat emboss with gold powder, Assemble
the panel as you like, embellishing with gears and sprockets.
We
have a new challenge for you today at That’s Crafty! Challenge Blog so don’t
forget to check it out at 8am for all the details on how you can win a fab
prize just by entering – how easy is that!
Have
a great weekend and see you next week.

Oh how wonderful Fliss. I love that she looks like she is flying through a sky of metal adornments. Your creation makes me think it would be the perfect inspiration for a Dr. Who episode; girl in balloon meets the phone booth!!!!! Love the vintage look - that's my fav part.XX j.
ReplyDeleteGreat steampunk piece! I think the MDF is fast becoming a favourite of us all.
