Refresh by Gill Humphrey

I have had the Window to the World mould in my stash for a while and decided that the Arched Top Shadow Box Tag would make the  perfect place to create a little diorama. Having made up the tag using Express Glue I painted the MDF with Nougat acrylic paint before dry brushing over some white gesso. For the inside of the shadow box I chose the old wall A6 Ricepaper Background, cut it to size and adhered it in place with rice paper glue.

I then cast lots of elements with Amazing Casting Resin. I chose the ornate arch and shuttered window from Window to the World mould, the bugs come from the flowers mold, the tiny daisy comes from the sunflower silicone mould and the pots and rabbits from the farm mould from the Sunflowers collection which is currently out of stock. However as I used the wall with poppies on it for the background you could substitute these pieces for poppies from the flowers mold and paint them in the colours I did for my blog post a few weeks ago. All pieces were primed with white gesso before painting.

The ornate arch was painted with Ivory Matte Acrylic Paint and the details highlighted with Copper Metallic Wax. Before adhering in place with Express Glue. The shuttered window was painted with Baby Blue acrylic paint before distressing with White Antiquing Gel. For the bugs I chose Navy Blue Allegro paint and then the White Antiquing Gel.

The tiny sunflower was left with white petals making it into a daisy and then some ivory paint added to the centre. The pots were painted with a mixture of several browns to build up colour variation, the leaves with Leaf Green and then the flowers with Ivory, Baby Blue and Powder Blush before using the White Antiquing Gel. The bunnies were painted with Chocolate paint with Powder Blush to the ears and then a dry brushing with the Nougat paint used previously.

My elements were then adhered in place adding the word refresh from the 8 x 8 Sunflower Art Paper Pack and a scattering of 3D Balls to ground the elements in the bottom of the box.
