Shine Brightly by Amanda Pink

 Hi Everyone

I have an art panel to share with you today that I've created with stamps stencils and inks. It features silhouette florals set against a glowing 'hot' backdrop.

I worked on watercolour paper for the main panel which I later mounted onto a That's Crafty! White/ Greyboard panel (cut to size) before matt n layering onto Tim Holtz Metallic kraft stock and black card.

The background was created with Tim Holtz Distress inks/Distress Oxides (Mustard Seed, Wild Honey, Dried Marigold, Rusty Hinge, Crackling Campfire).

I pressed the inks and or Oxides directly onto a craft mat, spritzed with water and 'smooshed' the watercolour paper through the ink, then dried with a heat tool. `I repeated the process (ink/Oxide, spritz, smoosh, dry) several times, gradually building up depth and variation of colour.

Some additional blending of Distress ink (Rusty Hinge, Crackling Campfire)  helped intensify the colour around the sides of the panel.

Some double layered stamping next.

For this I used Tracy Evans AALL and Creates 'Reckoner Digits' stamp, stamping first with Distress ink (Crackling Campfire) then again with Versafine ink (Onyx Black).

Then it was time to stencil the silhouette florals.

These were created using one of Donna Downeys fabulous stencil designs with DecoArt Black Modelling Paste - any black texture paste or neutral texture paste painted black could be use instead.

I simply applied the paste through the stencil , removed the stencil and left to dry.

The stencil is actually one of 4 designs included on one stencil but the 4 stencils can be and are very easily separated to work with
This along with more Donna Downey stencils were added to the shop just the other week so if you missed then you may want to check them out as there are a great variety of designs.

To finish I added white highlights to the florals, a few black paint splatters and a Tim Holtz metallic sticker offering the words:

'Shine Brightly'
