Vintage Days Birthday Book by Liz Wheeler

11:00

We want to say a massive thank you to Liz for guesting for us in December with all her
fabulous projects - what a fantastic project this last one is too!

For my final guest blog of the year I thought it would be nice to do a little mini project ready for the New Year.

I've made a Birthday Book, a little concertina of pages which acts as a reminder of all your important dates for the year - and quick enough to make for that last minute gift to send to a friend.

I've used the lovely 13 Arts Rosalie 6x6 inch papers and Ephemera pack - still one of my favourite collections.

I started by cutting a piece of A4 white card in half lengthways and scoring each length at 2.75, 5.5, 8.25 and 11 inches. I then cut one of the pieces down so it just had 3 scored sections as below

I adhered the right hand strip of the card with 4 sections to the strip with 3 sections to create a concertina page of 7 sections.

For the covers, I cut 2 pieces of grey board measuring 3 x 4.5 inches and attached some of the patterned 13 Arts papers to both front and back.

I then glued the back of the first panel of the concertina to one of the covers, and the second cover was glued to the front of the seventh panel.

This created a little concertina book with 6 panels on each side. I adhered paper to all panels and then applied a thin layer of White Gesso over the centre of each panel (so I can write my important dates) and finished by adding a Month Title across each panel.

For the front cover I used some of the gorgeous Ephemera pieces.

A really quick and simple project, but so effective and when giving as a gift even better!

I hope you enjoy making this little project. Wishing you all a peaceful and safe Christmas and look forward to seeing you all in the New Year x
