A Trio of ATC's by Amanda Southern

11:00

Hi Everyone
For this weeks arty make I have created a set of 3 ATC's using stamps designed by Seth Apter for Paperartsy.

Here's What I Did:

I started with a gelli print from my stash that wasn't good enough as a piece on it's own, but I keep them all as they can be a good starting point to build something else from. The one I picked was shades of blue so would be my starting point as I planned to work with blues and browns. On top of the gelli print I built up more colours by brayering roughly onto each of the ATC size pieces I had cut, this adds both texture and colour. I also added some spray inks to build up the texture and colour further. I then chose some of Seth Apters stamps and stamped the repeated patterns onto the ATC's using a different pattern on each one. I always make one more than I need and choose the one's I like the best.

I have used Distress Archival inks in vintage photo and faded jeans for the background stamps. I then brayered more paint over the stamping to blend it in. Once I was happy with the backgrounds I started building up the designs on each one.

Each one has been made in a similar way, additions of torn printed papers and torn book papers added and machine stitching through. The main image was stamped using Ground Espresso Archival onto teabag paper and torn around and then added using matte medium, the teabag paper nearly blends into the background. I have stamped the numbers 1,2,3 in red just for a little contrast, you will see this stamped onto each one. A chit chat sticker was added to add a word to each.

Similar to above but the central image on this one has been stamped directly onto the background.

Again follows the same method of making and again the central image stamped onto the teabag paper. a little touch of white pencil highlights the white of the eye.
