The Earth Has Music by Alison Hall
00:00
Hi Everyone! It's Alison here today,
with a mini acrylic book project. There's a sneak peek inside, of a new That's
Crafty! stamp set from Lynne Moncrieff that has its debut on Hochanda TV
this Friday.
Ingredients...
Carabelle Studio Stamp Sets - Mini
Textures & The Earth Has Music by Birgit Koopsen
'New' That's Crafty! Clear Stamp
Set - Lynne Moncrieff's Affirmations Set 2 (Released Fri)
PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Acrylic Paint
- Mermaid, Guacamole, Rose, Snowflake
Pink Organza Ribbon
Heat Gun, Ink Blending Foam
Instructions...
1. I selected two of the 2 inch square
acrylic shapes from the pack, then peeled off the protective film from one side
of each piece. Using Fresco Finish paints, I stamped some images from Birgit's
stamp sets. I also stamped a little frame around the edges, this time using Jet
Black Stazon. Once everything was dry, I painted over the top with a couple of
coats of Snowflake Fresco.
2. Once the Snowflake Fresco was dry, I
turned the acrylic shapes over, peeled off the protective films, then stamped
the quote from The Earth Has Music with black Stazon. I stamped some sprigs
with guacamole and mermaid Fresco, and also with black Stazon. I then sponged
the edges of the acrylic shapes with the black Stazon.
3. To make the pages of my book, I
took a piece of watercolour cardstock, 1.5 x 6 inches, then folded at 1.5 inch
intervals. I added some colour and stamping with Fresco Paints, black Stazon
and Birgit's stamps, finishing off with one of Lynne Moncrieff's lovely
new quotes.
4. To finish, I used Glossy Accents to glue the pages to the acrylic covers, trapping lengths of pink
organza ribbon in between. You can get a lovely curly effect by heating
organza ribbon with a heat gun.
I love making mini books, and I
hope I've inspired you today!
Don't forget to watch the talented Neil
Burley, demonstrating for That's Crafty! on Hochanda TV this Friday. Shows are
at 7am and 11am.
