Today I
am sharing my fourth and final MDF triptych. Any of you who have previously purchased any That’s Crafty! item:-
stencil, storage units, white/greyboard, plywood, etc will know that all are
great quality, the MDF triptychs are of the same high quality – smooth edges,
perfect alignment and sturdy MDF that will take all the abuse from various
media you choose to apply to it.
Supplies
That’s Crafty! Dinky Stencils – Church Window TC065, Quatrefoil 1 Background
Infusions
– Violet Storm, Blackcurrant, Black Knight
Treasure
Gold (That’s Crafty! stock a range of Gilding Waxes)
UHU
Glue Stick
Extras:-
Sari Ribbon, Copper Fabric, Rusty Tin Wire, Prima Dresden Trim, Deli Wrap,
Handmade Paper
Instructions
Apply
Gesso to all panels followed with Frank Garcia powders and Infusions Black
Knight and Violet Storm, misting with water, allowing colours to blend. Then randomly stamp text stamp from Castle
Keep.
Stamp
LPC stamp onto handmade paper. Adhere
with UHU to the middle panel. Now, onto
all panels, apply clear embossing paste to stencil, I worked in my favourite
way, randomly. Leave to dry naturally. When
dry, areas can be darkened with Frank Garcia powders and Infusions Violet Storm
and Black Knight.
Stain
various papers with Infusions and also some sari ribbon. To a piece of Dresden Trim apply the Prima
Rust Paste. Adhere all those prepared
elements around the stamped focal.
Apply
Infusions, Frank Garcia Powders and Old Gold to Relic and Artifact. I leave it to dry naturally but you could use
a heat gun. Adhere to top of main panel
with Gel Medium.
Now to
focus on the front of the triptych. Working on craft mat, lay the two front panels side by side. Apply Rust
Paste through stencil. Once dry,
highlight areas with Treasure Gold, also applying to edges of panels, etc. Bind the panels together with rusty tin wire
along with threading through some of the previously stained sari ribbon and
some beautiful, torn copper fabric.
