A Sketchy Scrapbook Pocket by Liz Wheeler

Happy Monday That's Crafty Creatives!

Today's project is a pocket page and insert for my 2023 Journal.

I started with applying Distress Oxides in Peacock FeathersSeedless PreservesSpiced Marmalade and Uncharted Mariner onto my craft mat. I spritzed with water then pushed my cardstock into the mix of colours. I used a cotton rag paper for the page. For the areas without any colour I used my sponge brushes to spread more ink.

For the main focal point I used my That's Crafty! Daisy Mask, and brushed through with Picked Raspberry and Peacock Feathers.

With a black Ultra Fine Posca Pen I traced around the floral and leaf shapes from the daisy mask, then added more detail to the centre of the flowers and vines on the leaves with the black and also a White Ultra Fine Posca Pen.

I drew a faint pencil line around the edge of the mask and cut around the shape. With a small pair of scissors I scuffed around the edge, then glued the back of the paper with Multi Purpose Craft Adhesive and stuck to another piece of rag paper to create a pocket.

I folded a third piece of rag paper into a card and with the daisy mask, stencilled random flowers and leaves with the Distress Oxides. Again, I drew around the shapes to create more solid flowers and added detail with the Posca Pens.

This card will be added to the pocket as an insert for some journalling. I hope you enjoyed this project - and hopefully it showed you a different way to use your masks.
