Fragile Strength A Journal Page by Lynne Moncrieff

 Hello

I am sorry I was unable to share a project for That's Crafty! last week but here I am today, sharing a page from the That's Crafty! Journal I have worked in over time and now nearing the completion of this particular journal. The focal of the page is a That's Crafty! Greyboard Feather resting beside the words Fragile Strength.

Supplies

Instructions

Prepare journal page by spraying with Walnut Ink (dissolve Walnut Ink powder in spray bottle).  Also use this to spray onto piece of cardstock along with a few drops of Pearl Ink in Black, misting with water to diffuse the Ink. Onto another piece of cardstock, only apply the Walnut Ink, again misting with water. Leave all those pieces to air dry.

Adhere the piece of stained cardstock to the journal page. With a pencil, my choice is an ALL pencil in black, create some free flow journaling and then mist with water.

To the Craftyboard Circle, adhere the cardstock prepared only with Walnut Ink. Distress the edges by abrading with blunt scissors and edging with the ALL pencil and smudging. Stamp the words Fragile and Strength onto the circle, allowing the stamping to fade out.

Mix white Gesso and the Texture Paste and with palette knife apply, almost in a wiping on and wiping off motion, creating texture.

For the feather, first apply white Gesso and then the beautiful Black Pearl Ink, misting with water and adding the smallest spray of Walnut Ink. Leave some areas of the white Gesso peeking through. Layer the feather to the circle.

Stamp the words Fragile and Strength once again, this time onto scrap of Walnut Ink stained cardstock.  Layer to the circle.

Gather some paper scraps - I used found papers which I either applied Gesso to or stained with Walnut Ink. Three primitive stitches add to the textural details of this page.

Final touches are with the pencil, edging the page and smudging .

Thank you for your visit today.

Wishes

Lynne
