Poppy Time - A Card by Fliss Goodwin

11:00

Hello!

This week I have my favourite card from the recent Hochanda One Day Special to share as I love the poppy image Melina designed and couldn't resist using it to make a very layered textured design. I've also played with some of the new and gorgeous doodle stamps created by Alexa Doebler (otherwise known as Blue Woods Design) for That's Crafty!

Step by Step:

I made my background by first taking a piece of smooth thick cartridge paper and misting on basil and saffron Flat Matte Sprays fairly lightly to ensure some of the white underneath still showed through.

I then took one of the round Dinky stencils and used this to sponge on aqua Flat Matte Spray in several places. I followed this up with the new 7 x 7 squares stencil using basil and saffron sprays which when mixed make a lovely lime green.

I used the new numbers 7 x 7 stencil (do you remember The Matrix?) with black multi surface paint to add a pattern on the left and right hand sides.

I stamped on the gorgeous poppy image with black pigment ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. I stamped an extra poppy head on cartridge paper and heat embossed as before, then painted it with tomato Flat Matte Spray and the centre with basil.

I stamped the doodled stitching image on the right side of my decorated paper using green ink for added detail.

I coloured the dotty area on the poppy collage image stamped directly on my background paper and added the trimmed poppy head over the top of the directly stamped one with multi purpose craft adhesive.

I stamped some of the washi tape style images from Alexa's doodle set on orange and yellow spray overflow papers using black ink and heat embossing with clear powder. I cut these out and added them as you see with craft glue. I added the paper to a dark green mat and glued this to my chosen card blank.

I finished off with some text from the ATCoin words set stamped on overflow paper and cut out. I inked the edges black and glued the text on, then doodled round the tiles with a fine black pen.
