Oh Make my Voice Strong...... By Amanda Pink

Hello Everyone

Welcome to my Thursday weekly post of Creativity.
Today I'm sharing another Art Card/panel that features one of Dina Wakleys new 'Lovely Women' stamps.
It all began with a desire to simply try out the stamp, nothing more. I wanted to see how it stamped, what it looked like and have a think about potential ideas for future use, however one false move changed all that and this weeks project was realised....

I primed a That's Crafty! 4x6 White/ Greybeard postcard with a couple of coats of white gesso, dried with a heat gun and then stamped one of the 'Lovely Women' images with Onyx Black Versafine ink.
I then got distracted and moved away from the craft desk for about 15mins. On return I assumed the ink would be dry given the time I'd been away so picked up the postcard. It wasn't ??!! My fingers caught the stamped image and smudged some of the ink! I thought it was ruined so with nothing to lose (and probably some inner frustration at myself) I began smudging my finger over all the lines of the stamped image only to find I kinda liked the effect.

So I continued with my creativity.
I painted the woman's hair with some sketchy coloured hair lines using acrylic paints, both neat and with water to achieve varying tones and coloured her face, neck and lips in the same way

before adding highlights and lowlights to help accentuate and shadow various features.

To finish off the postcard I used a natural sea sponge to dab paint gently around the edges. I then mounted the postcard onto a matt board panel edged with some Dina Wakley Washi Tape before mounting again onto a double mount of white card and black matt board.

All that remained was to add a few words which were provided by another of Dina's Washi tapes.
