Daydreams of Spring by Fliss Goodwin

I have a mixed media tag to share this week that came about due to my longing for Spring as although we have sunshine at the moment, there's a very chilly wind from the North which has made it very cold so I really wish Spring would arrive.
Step by Step:
In common with Amanda this week, my chosen substrate is one of the lovely long tags with my favourite shape top which is the scalloped edge. I used the abstract grid stencil with texture paste to add a pattern to the surface.
Once it was dry, I added a coat of Chestnut Multi Surface Paint. I then went to work with Flat Matte Sprays, using Ochre, Blackberry, Raspberry and Walnut randomly on the surface. I followed these up with Lustre Sprays, starting with Lime, then Lilac and finally Aubergine until I was happy with the effect.
I then made my embellishments, stamping some flowers on smooth cartridge paper with brown ink then painting them with Rose and Saffron Flat Matte Sprays before cutting them out. I rounded the shape a little and added dots of liquid pearls for interest.
I stamped some leaves onto paper that had been sprayed with Basil and Saffron Flat Matte Sprays, using the same brown ink. I cut these out too.
I took a greyboard bird on a branch (from the robins and doves set) and painted the bird up to resemble a green finch using a mix of Zig Clean Color Brush markers, coloured pencils and paint. I hope you like how he turned out.
I glued all the elements in place and finished off with my chosen text, stamped on a scrap of spray overflow sheet as happily I had one that toned in well.
