Be True.... by Amanda Pink

Hi Everyone

Welcome to my Thursday weekly post.
This week I've been playing with the paints again but this time using them with my gelli plate. I am a gelli plate novice so still have a lot to learn and long way to go to hone my skills but I'm having fun practising, even if every 'pull' isn't a success. I did get a few 'pulls' that I can see have potential, one of which I have used to create today's Mixed Media Postcard Art' - 'Be True'....

The background is a section cut from a larger gelli print (A4) that I adhered to 2 (one on top of the other for thickness) That's Crafty! Postcards.
I created the gelli print background using the gelli plate with acrylic paints, a brayer and a few products to create the marks, and impressions you can see - stamps, bubble wrap and paper towel.

I love the paper towel marks on this particular section of the print

and I like the heavily stamped section that I used to cover the ATCoin

I then added some more stamping in and around the panel using both the art printing plate with acrylic paint and a couple of texture stamps with Archival ink

aswell as some textured stenciling and a few paint splatters.

As more often than not with me the focal feature is the sum of a few parts:
the gelli print covered That's Crafty! ATCoin I showed above (it was a shame to cover it up but needs must), a couple of Seth Apter's die cuts one of which was an 'X' that I covered with a piece of gelli print. The feature is embellish with hex nuts from my hardware stash.

All the die cuts are multi layered to give dimension

and to finish off and give the postcard art a title I added a Tim Holtz quote chip that I 'roughed' up a bit with paint and adhered to a gelli print mount.
