Sweet Eyes .... by Amanda Pink
11:00We are extremely delighted to announce that Amanda has joined our team permanently!
Welcome to the team Amanda. :-)
Thank you so very much, Laura 😊
Hi Everyone
Welcome to my weekly post here at That's Crafty!
This week I have reacquainted myself with my much loved Distress inks. I seem to have neglected them of late, apart from the odd bit of colouring here and there so I have some 'inky' creativity to share with you today.
This week I have reacquainted myself with my much loved Distress inks. I seem to have neglected them of late, apart from the odd bit of colouring here and there so I have some 'inky' creativity to share with you today.
A pair of art panels that I have named after the Carabelle Studio stamp set I used 'Sweet Eyes' designed by Alexi.
Both panels are created in the same way using the same colours, stencils, background stamps and embellishments on each. Its only the focal image and size that differs.
The backgrounds are created on white cardstock using Distress inks applied by using the wrinkle free distress technique. Here's how one of the panels looked at this stage (photo is a little blurry, sorry -achey flu jab arm!)
The inks are then applied using the blending tool to add more colour in and around the panel where needed.
There's some stencilling, again using Distress inks through a couple of different stencils
some detail stamping using a text and a speckle stamp with Archival ink and the paint just had to make an appearance in the form of a few splatters!
The background panels are mounted onto white and black card stock before finally being mounted onto greyboard to give them a sturdier base for displaying.
There's also a strip of design tape across the centre of both backgrounds.

Now for the differences: the focal images...
The 'Butterfly Eyes'
He/She is stamped onto white cardstock using a Stamping Platform, water coloured using Distress inks and fussy cut. There's some white pen marks and highlights added and those 'peeking eyes' have a touch of gloss. An arrow with a gem bead embellishes the thorax.
The 'Starry Eye'
This is stamped and coloured in the same way as the butterfly but the single pupil is alot glossier. The stamped panel is embellished with a gem topped arrow and mounted on back card stock.
Each art panel can be displayed alone
or displayed together as part of of a complimenting pair.
