Before long we will be turning our thoughts to holidays by the sea and the Blue Dream collection is just perfect for making an album to hold precious photographs and ephemera collected whilst away. The base of this album are two 6"square canvases linked by a piece of canvas 3" wide by 8" tall adhered to the inside of the canvas panels and then lined with paper before folding over the top and bottom 1" pieces so that the edge is neat. The backs of the canvases were then covered with more papers leaving just a tiny border.

Throughout the album I used papers from the 12 x 12 and 8 x 8 paper pads along with rub ons from Blue Dream and Magic Forest collections. By cutting up the rub on pieces and only using parts of them on each page the rub ons go quite a long way but you will still need two packs because of the number of pages in the book.

The inside front and back cover have pockets created from paper pieces into which pieces from the paper pad were added along side a piece of white watercolour card decorated with text from the Welcome Home Clocks set and Cerulean Blue ink and fragments of rub ons. 

For the papers held in with thick embroidery thread I cut white card stock to 14.5cm high by 29cm wide scored in the middle and then layered with papers 14cm square. Some of the pages have a pocket cut from a scrap created when the base pages were prepared simply cut with a curved edge and others have a flap created with watercolour card 10.5cm high by 15cm long scored at 13.5cm to create a small flap to adhere behind the paper before it was then attached to the page.

There are a total of 5 cards giving 20 sides to decorate. Once made the pages were attached to the album by simply wrapping thick embroidery cotton around the spine and fold of the papers before tying it as shown and adding sea themed charms to the tails. 

On the front I added some more rub on details close to the top along side a sentiment from the paper before adding the word smile from the wooden shape set. Towards the bottom I added the boat and word memories from the wooden shape set along side another metal charm and lots of natural shells. Finally I added some Fluid Gloss to the water area. Note the fluid gloss is strong enough to adhere your shells in place making it a great addition to your crafty stash.
