Make Art Possible by Amanda Pink
11:00Hi Everyone and as its my first post of 2022 Happy New Year to you all.
I'm sharing a grungy art journal page with you today that I created using paints, texture paste, stamps, stencils and washi tape.
I had no preconceived ideas/ plans of how the page would turn out I just went with the flow, followed my creative muse and here's the resulting page ...
(click on the photos for a closer look)
I worked 'off the journal' on a piece of That's Crafty! Ultra Smooth White Card cut to size.
The card was brayered with a few of Dina Wakley's Heavy Body Acrylics: Sky, Lemon, Lime applied one at a time. When happy with how things were looking I then introduced black acrylic paint. This again was brayered -with a lighter hand in the main body of the page, heavier towards the outer edges.
Some stamp detail came next and for this I used stamps from a couple of PaperArtsy stamp sets designed by Seth Apter : Eclectica ESA02, ESA16.
The dot stamp from ESA02 was stamped with white acrylic paint, the long slim stamp from ESA16 stamped with a couple of Archival inks: Garden Patina and Jet Black.
Then some textured stencilling using Tim Holtz Distress Texture Paste with That's Crafty's Dinky 'Screwheads' stencil.
Some pen drawn stencilling too using white and black pens with That's Crafty's Dinky 'Bubbly All Over' stencil, oh and some white paint splattered around the page.
Torn strips of some of the words on AALL & Creates #5 washi tape were then adhered to the page at various points along with a thin offcut of the brayered page placed either above or to the side of the words.
'Make..
Art..
Possible'.
My page was then matt n layered on a panel of white card before being adhered to a black journal page.
