Fly High, Fly Free by Amanda Pink

Hi Everyone

Welcome to my weekly DT post.
This week I'm sharing a card I have created using paints, stencils and stamps.

I began by stencilling the background onto a panel of white card . I used PaperArtsy stencil PS147 with a couple of That's Crafty! Multi Surface Paints: Bright Magenta and Midnight.
I applied the paints freely and when happy placed a paper towel over the positioned stencil and pressed lightly over the towel with my hand.
The wet paint picked up the pattern from the paper towel which added some lovely subtle detail.

I defined the stencilling with the use of a black fine liner pen and ran some black paint around the sides of the panel. A few white paint splatters and the panel was matt n layer onto white and black card before being adhered to a handmade white card.

For the focal butterfly I used one of the butterflies from PaperArtsy Eclectica ETS26 stamp set. He was stamped with Versafine, heat set and then coloured using the same paints I'd used for the stenciled background. The bold design makes him super easy to paint and fussy cut.

Manipulating his wings gave him a sense of movement and dimension...

... and he was mounted on a That's Crafty! White/Greyboard Round textured with Grit Paste and painted white.

I added a few white highlights and embellished his thorax with a 'cameo' style bead I had in my stash.

The card was finished with a quote/sentiment taken from PaperArtsy Eclectica ETS27 stamp set. As with the butterfly the words were stamped with Versafine on white card, the edges distressed with the paint used throughout and a few gem beads added to compliment the 'cameo' style embellishment.

Products I used:
Black Acrylic Paint
Tsukineko Ink: Onyx Black
PaperArtsy stencil: PS147
PaperArtsy Stamps: Eclectica ETS26 (currently out of stock)
White Highlighter Pen
Ranger Cut n Dry Foam
Paper Trimmer/ Guillotine
Masking Tape
Paper Towel
Cameo Bead embellishment

Thanks for joining me today
Hope you have a great week creating.
Take care
Amanda
