Let Your Beautiful Heart by Dorthe Hansen
11:00
Dear friends, I think it is ok, to
totally go Christmas now, lol. So here is my Monday blog piece.
Using one of That’s Crafty’s white/greyboard
panels, I adhered a piece of textured gold “plastic” which had been around a
package I got and onto that I stenciled a piece of the Poinsettia stencil with
the heart turning upwards in the corner. I found out it was a bit tricky as
this material is pure plastic-like and therefore the texture paste does not
fasten well, and is prone to run off.
But I left it and when dry, painted
the wonderful Metallic Antique Gold onto the stenciled area.
I painted a piece of craft paper,
with a mix of White and Christmas Red paint, aiming for a strong pink tone -
also some old lace scrap, was painted and the heart in the right corner of the
card too.
After it had dried, I stamped the
text from Textures Stamp Set 1 onto the paper and cut out a piece, big enough
to hold the sweet siblings from Tim Holz Christmas Collection. I added white
paint and texture paste to the perimeter and onto the texture paste while wet, I
sprinkled mini art stones.
The children were adhered and the
whole piece adhered to the background, adding a tiny piece of the text stamped
pink paper under it, to stick out in one side.
3 beautiful snowflakes were also
painted with the pink mix and on top I smeared a bit of texture paste here and
there, added the mini stones and a bit of silvery glitter too.
The lace stamp from
new Textures Collection Stamp Set 3, was stamped onto another piece of
craft paper, first painted with a
lighter mix of Christmas Red and White and fussy cut to be adhered to the
bottom panel.
Also another tiny square of the
stamped paper, was adhered under the Affirmation and lastly a very old scrap of
nylon lace went under the siblings, to give an illusion of snow and winter there,
together with a thin frame, created with texture paste, around 3 sides of the
panel.
If you followed me to the end, I’m saying
thank you very much. Being on the team, and having visits and also comments is
just wonderful.
Hugs and love
Dorthe

I think you have worked wonders with that recycled plastic Dorthe, the stencilling is clearly visible and looks so rustic with it's little imperfections. Your mixed pink gives a touch of shabby chic, with matched sentiment to the heart shining through in the corner. That beautiful lace finishing it all off so so delicately.

Yes, I think by 11th December it's okay to get Christmassy! And this is just charming - a vintage, textured beauty, with those wonderful paper dolls taking centre stage.
