It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year by Dorthe Hansen
11:00
Not even a week till Christmas Eve and
the last Monday before!!
My sample this week is showing some of the newest Bits
and Pieces of stars and hearts. They are mounted onto a piece of white/greyboard,
which was first painted with a mix of Green and White, to achieve a soft light
green.
When dry, I used two Dinky stencils
to create interest to the background, one called Circles and one Harlequin,
added with Archival Ink.On top of it on the left side of panel and top, I
stamped the text stamp from the new Textures Collections Stamp Set 3. The stars
and hearts were all painted with a little stronger mix of Green and White and
on top I stenciled the beautiful Dinky stencil Snowflakes, using Texture Paste.
While wet I sprinkled white glitter dust.
After it had dried, a little Sand Paste was
smeared around the perimeter of both hearts and stars and lastly I painted all
edges with Black.
On a piece of discarded paper, I
stamped Donna’s wonderful text from her stamp set Christmas Collection Set 1,
with Jet Black Archival Ink. The perimeter also painted with white and black paint.
Torn pieces of gauze and lace were adhered to the background - half the gauze
first painted with the rest of the paint mixture.
Everything was adhered to the canvas
using Multi Purpose Craft Adhesive, a green painted string was also
tied around the panel and a Mother
of Pearl button from my stash added. Lastly the perimeter of the panel was
painted with Black.
I hope you are all happily busy
preparing for the big day, I know I am. J
There will be 14 days now, without
any blog posts from me and my dear friend Lynne is the last one to post from
the team Sunday the 24th – I’m sure it will be another gorgeous creation from
her.
Wishing you all the most Merry and Happy Christmas time, with family
and friends, and a blessed, healthy and wonderful New Year 2018.
Hugs and love
Dorthe
