Crazy Quilt Art Panel by Fliss Goodwin

11:00

Today is a really exciting day for That’s Crafty! as we’re doing the One Day Special at Hochanda TV and the bundle on offer has some fantastic new products, including stamps, stencils and substrates.

The shows are at 6pm and 8pm today and 9am, 1pm and 5pm tomorrow. The channels are Sky 663, Freeview 85 and Freesat 817.

It’s Fliss here today and I’m thrilled to bits to be able to share one of my samples with you, ahead of the TV shows. I really loved creating all of my samples as the new goodies are just amazing and I can’t wait for you to see them, as I know you’ll love them as I do.

Ingredients:

That’s Crafty! Clear Stamp Sets – Lynne’s Affirmations Set 6, Motivational Words Set 2
That’s Crafty! Multi Surface Paints – Bright Magenta, Evergreen, Violet, Metallic Gold

Recipe:

I was inspired to make my art panel by a stitched crazy quilt that I saw on Pinterest. The colours were so rich that I immediately thought of sari silk and wanted to recreate the effect.

I cut 3 strips of white tissue paper each about half the width of the white/greyboard panel to make sure that I had enough to cover the panel when torn up. I then painted each of the strips with one of the gorgeous new bright colours of multi surface paint and left them to dry thoroughly.

The violet painted paper was stamped with the flower from the Lynne’s Affirmations set using clear embossing ink and heat embossed them with gold powder. The magenta paper was stencilled with the daisy background using the gold paint and the green paper was stencilled with gold using the doily background stencil.

I tore the decorated tissue into strips and then glued them onto the panel with the matte medium. Once the panel was dry, I trimmed off the excess.

I dry embossed a large greyboard butterfly with a flourish style embossing folder and painted it gold. I then painted a large circle (one of the inner pieces from a greyboard clock) gold and once dry, stamped on the believe text from the motivational words. I glued both embellishments to my panel to finish.

In addition to the very exciting TV news, we also have a fab new challenge for you over at That’s Crafty! Challenge Blog so do hop over to see how you can win a great prize just for entering (and get your mitts on some of those gorgeous new goodies!)

Have a great weekend (hopefully watching Hochanda)

See you next week!
