We’d
like to thank Nikki very much for all her fantastic projects while guesting on
the blog for us in September. We’ve really enjoyed having you Nikki! :-)
Hi everyone, Nikki here with my final guest post. I have
used more That’s Crafty! Surfaces today – 3 whiteboard ATC’s and a 4.5 x 9inch
MDF panel to create a colourful and cheerful piece.
What I did
I started with some ATC’s which I cut to size out of card –
in hindsight I could have worked straight onto the whiteboard but I wasn’t sure
where this was heading when I started! I took three colours of Dylusions paint
and randomly painted them. I stamped three Scribbly Birds in Archival ink.
Initially the yellow/blue was going to be a background but
I liked how it looked inside the birds so I decided to paint around them using
red/purple Dylusions paints. I blended the 2 colours together and added a
little dry brushed blue in places to bring it together.
Next I
stencilled some more yellow through the ‘Bubbly all Over’ Dinky stencil – using
the smaller areas of bubbles. I added a little black Distress paint with my
finger around the edges.
I also painted the outer border of the whiteboard ATC’s in
black and mounted the painted cards onto them.
Next to the MDF panel – I used the same three colours to
paint this – with the yellow in the middle, blending into green and finally
blue around the edges. I then took the bubble stencil again and added a
contrasting colour – this time using the larger bubbles.
Once everything was dry I adhered the ATC’s to the MDF and
added some big chat stickers (with a little colour added).
