Tiny Memories by Liz Wheeler

Happy Bank Holiday Monday to you all! Today's project is another of my mini books using my Journal It Templates Set 3 and the new Vintage Library Collection from Stamperia.

I started by tracing around the cover for the Mini Mini book template from set 3 onto some mountboard. I cut the mountboard into 3 pieces then added Tyvek down the spine with double sided tape to create a book cover with a hinged spine.

For the cover I chose some of the gorgeous new 8x8" background paper from Stamperia's Vintage Library range. I drew around the cover adding an extra 1" around the edge so I could fold over and stick down the flaps. I adhered the papers with That's Crafty! Multi Purpose Craft Adhesive.

To decorate, I cast one of the book spines and title plates from the Vintage Library moulds Books and Plates with Creative Paperclay. Once dry I painted with Art by Marlene acrylics in SandTabaccoTuscan and Lace. I stamped 'Memories' from Stamperia's Vintage Library Labels stamp set onto watercolour paper with Paris Dusk Memento Ink. I used the clay title plate to draw around the stamped word and cut out. I cut 3 smaller pieces of mountboard to layer in the centre of the title plate then glued the stamped word onto the top.

For the spine I cut a piece from the Vintage Library Collactables and glued on. Then for the book pages, I traced around the inner page template from the Journal It set onto both watercolour paper and a sheet of the Vintage Library Backgrounds paper pad. I created 2 signatures and sewed into the book with a simple pamphlet stitch.

I then glued the clay spine and book title plate onto the cover with the multi purpose adhesive, thus hiding the outer stitches.

I loved making this book, and I love the new Stamperia collection, and will make use of the moulds in lots of projects. Happy Crafting!
