Journal Page by Helen Chilton

I'm journalling this week using some of Kelly O'Gorman's very detailed stamps for the main images.
Using an 8x8 journal I created a background using pigment powders and Walnut Ink Powder.

Then I overstamped this lovely AALL & Create oval background using Ranger Archival Jet Black - you need to make sure your black ink pad doesn't react with bleach.

After that paint some of the ovals with neat bleach and leave it to do its magic - you can never be sure how the colours will react.

You can add another layer of bleach to lighten even more.

I decided to deconstruct my stamp and put it back together differently. Stamp the image, cut it up and then play around and see what you like.

I ended up with this. Colour them in with Studio Light markers.

The text was cut from some Tim Holtz packaging - I think a stencil.

This is actually going to be a double sided journal spread - you'll have to wait 'til next week for the other side!

Hope you've enjoyed this project.

Helen
