Freedom is a State of Mind....... by Amanda Pink

Hi Everyone
Welcome to my Thursday weekly post of creativity.
This week I am sharing a journal page which could if preferred be used as an art panel. I'm still undecided at present as to whether its destined for my journal or the wall? I guess time will determine its destiny!
I worked on watercolour paper for the background and applied various colours of acrylic and distress paints along with white gesso using a brayer, fingers and mopping up any left over paint. I followed no rules or techniques I just went with the flow following my creative muse.
I stenciled centrally applying texture paste through an AALL and Create stencil with a 'broken maze like' design. I let the texture paste air dry, then repositioned the stencil and painted the stenciled paste with black acrylic paint.
I used Thats Crafty's new 'Numbers' stencil to add some vertical stenciling around the page choosing to leave this unpainted as a contrast to the central black stenciling.
For a touch more detail I added some stamping using a couple of stamps from That's Crafty's 'Texture Collection Set 2' stamp set
The focal butterfly is stamped, watercoloured and mounted on a painted disc - I was thinking I would be putting this page in my journal at this stage so didn't want the bulk of a multi stacked/layered feature.
To finish off I embellished the thorax of the butterfly with an offcut of an 'alpha part' topped with a gem bead
and stamped and adhered in place some chosen words.
