Bloom and Grow by Amanda Southern

Hi Everyone
Amanda here to share some art with you today and for this week I have made a card using some of the new stamps from Carabelle Studio and I have been playing around with the alcohol ink lift technique brought to us by Tim Holtz and his alcohol ink lift products.

Here's What I Did:

As always I started by creating my background and for this I wanted to use one of the new Carabelle Studio printing stamps. These rubber stamps are not intended to be mounted on foam to allow you to use with your Gel Press however I like to use these as regular stamps so I have mounted mine to allow me to use as a normal stamp (doing this I can still use on my Gel Press). The first thing for the alcohol ink transfer is to create your alcohol ink design to take your print from. I chose several bright colours of alcohol inks and dropped them onto a piece of Yupo (this technique only works on Yupo).

Using a Stamping Platform I stamped the printing stamp onto the alcohol inked background using Alcohol Ink Lift Pad and then stamped again onto stamping card. You will find Tim HERE showing you his alcohol ink lift technique.
I now had my background to build upon.
I stamped the Roadside Weeds stamps by Birgit Koopsen in black ink onto the background. Onto a separate piece of card I stamped several elements of stamps from Kate Cranes new stamps for Carabelle Studio including my main character one of Kate's Lolly Dolly's. All were coloured with blendable coloured pencils. The flowers I created using the alcohol lift technique again on some scraps of the yupo that I had left. All were cut out and added to the background.

The sentiment was cut from a flower stem from Kate stamps and added to finish it all off.

All was then mounted onto black card and added to a 7" x 7" card blank.

Here's What I Used:
Alcohol Inks - Assorted colours
Carabelle Studio Unmounted Printing Square - Rounds aux Pistils by Azoline
Carabelle Studio Stamp Set - Lolly Dolly by Kate Crane
Carabelle Studio Stamp Set - Journal Doodles by Kate Crane
Carabelle Studio Stamp Set - Roadside Weeds by Birgit Koopsen
Versafine Clair Ink Pad - Nocturne

Hope you all have a great week and I'll be back with you next Tuesday
Love
Amanda X
