Carved Leaves Card/s by Amanda Pink

Hi Everyone

Welcome to my weekly post of creativity!
Today I am sharing a card I have created using some of the stamps from That's Crafty! Stamp Set: 'Lynne's Carved Leaves Set 1' designed by Lynne Moncrieff.
It is in a very different style to all the gorgeous samples Lynne has already shared here on the blog but I wanted to show the versatility of the stamps- that their silhouette design lends itself to a whole manner of creative styles.

I worked on mixed media paper for the background. After cutting a panel to the required size I spritzed it with gesso resist spray and dried. I then applied various colours of Distress Oxide inks using the 'wrinkle free distress' technique. When happy with the result I rubbed gently over the inked panel with a lightly dampened cloth to reveal the effects of the gesso resist spray - some lovely speckles of white where the gesso resist spray had 'resisted' the ink.

For a touch more background detail I added some script stamping

and texture stamping

as well as stamping a few of the leaves from one of the stamps in each of the four corners.
The focal leaf was stamped in the centre of the inked panel and decoupaged with a second leaf which I stamped on card, fussy cut and doodled with a white pen.

After brayering round the sides of the panel with black acrylic paint it was matt n layered onto white and black card stock before being adhered to a handmade card. You can if you prefer use a ready made card.

I also created a really quick smaller card which I think would make for a lovely set of note cards or thank you cards as I kept the design one dimensional so it would be a regular price to post.
