Little Spooky Town by Samantha Read

Hello! I can't believe we are now in to October, the temperatures are dropping and heating being turned on and the Christmas word keeps popping up in conversations! But before we get to the festive month we have spooky craftiness happenings and I must confess that I am not very good and making spooky things lol, you will see in my following posts for this month that I kid you not, but I did have a lot of fun and giggles which is what really matters right?

Above is my first spooky make using an old Altoid mint tin, little tins are wonderful to create little scenes or worlds inside.

What I did

I gave the inside of the tin a couple of coats of white gesso and painted with a bright green and yellow. Then using the tin as a template cut two pieces of card, one the inside of the lid and one for the inside of the base, I then created the background by using paint, sprays and stamps and stamping on strips of card. The wonderful Fred cat, the skull boy and mushrooms were stamped on shrink plastic, doing this made them the right size to fit in the tin and be the right scale in relation to the size of the house. Everything else was stamped on to white card and coloured using using paints and sprays. I drew the cobwebs, spiders and bat hoping to make it really spooky! I added glossy accents to the windows, moon and spaceship to finish.

What I used
