Hello!

This week I'm very pleased to share with you the artist trading block that I created as a sample for the Hochanda shows featuring the gorgeous new Language of Trees stamp sets designed by Lynne which I've fallen in love with.

Step by Step:

I began by searching through my ever useful stash of ink spray overflow and mop up papers, some of which have stencil clean off on them too and found a lovely nature colour one which I cut into 5 pieces which you can see below.


I then decided to add some more interest with stencilling and used the gorgeous new Leaf Branches A4 stencil on 3 of the pieces with Green Multi Surface Paint to add just a touch of pattern. For the remaining 2 pieces I used the new and fabulous Hex Net Stencil with Gold Multi Surface Paint and you can see the transformed sections below.


I next stamped trees from Lynne's absolutely gorgeous new stamp designs on 4 of the pieces, stamping the tree with bent branches on the golden ones and the more upright tree on the other 2 green ones, using a deep brown ink.

I assembled my atblock and painted the edges with Metallic Green Multi Surface Paint. I then distressed the edges of my 5 panels with an emery board and glued them in place, adding the plain one on top.

I took a greyboard leaf from my bits box which had been dipped in a mix of Multi Surface Paints for an earlier project - Copper, Orange, Green and Chestnut Brown. I used a texture stamp on top with the brown ink to add a leaf vein effect and glued this on the top.

I then stamped a variety of text from the trees stamp set on scraps of overflow paper, cutting them into tiles and inking the edges. I added these to my cube to finish.
